We were surprised when we downloaded the wildlife cameras to see that it had snowed in November.
The slub was created when we cleared the fen meadow in June. Now it is shared, it seems amicably, by a male and two female pheasants as well as a rat. We have also caught various other birds pausing on top.
In November we sowed some shade tolerant grass seeds on the track near the middle dyke. We were excited to see that already there are signs of growth. We weren't sure if such late seeds would actually grow. Maybe, in time, it will look like the rest of the track.
The primrose, which was flowering in November was still flowering in December. We found another one in our allotment so have added that as well. We hope in the future the entrance will be covered in bluebells and primroses.
We enjoyed beautiful winter skies.
